Paneer Peshawari

Ingredients
  

  • 200 Gm Paneer
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 Medium Carrot
  • 2 Medium Potatoes
  • 3 Medium Onions
  • 8-10 Green Beans
  • 1/2 Cup Peas
  • 1-2 Green Chili
  • 20 Garlic Cloves
  • 20 Cashews
  • 2 Green Cardamom
  • 2 Inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 5-6 Cloves
  • 7-8 Whole Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Kasoori Methi
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 4 Tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4th Tsp Asafoetida
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Cream
  • 1 Tbsp Plain Yogurt
  • 1 Cup Water
  • Salt

Instructions
 

  • Soak the cashews in water for 1 hour. Alternatively you can put cashews in a microwavable bowl along with water and microwave it for 1 minute.
  • Pressure cook peas.
  • Chop onions, carrot, green bell pepper, potatoes. Make big pieces of paneer.
  • In a pot heat 1 tbsp oil. Fry 1 onion, cashews, garlic cloves, fennel seeds and green chilis. 
  • Make a paste in a blender.
  • In a pot heat remaining oil. Add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds starts to sputter add asafoetida, green cardamom bay leaf, black peppercorn, cloves and cinnamon stick.
  • Add remaining onion, potato, carrot, green beans, peas, water and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat covering the pot.
  • Add green bell pepper and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Add coriander powder, cumin powder,salt, sugar and kasoori methi. Mix well.
  • Add puree and mix well. Cook it for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Add fresh cream and cook for couple of minutes.
  • Add paneer cubes and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Turn off the gas. Add well beaten plain yogurt and mix well. Cook it for 5 minutes.
