Lal Bhopla Kadhi

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Cup Chopped Pumpkin
  • 500 Ml Buttermilk
  • 1/4th Cup Unsalted Peanuts
  • 1 Tbsp Gram Flour
  • 1 Stalk Of Curry Leaves
  • 2 Green Chilis
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 1/4th Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4th Tsp Asafoetida
  • 200 Ml Water
  • 4 Tsp Sugar
  • Salt

Instructions
 

  • Soak the peanuts in the water for 1 hour. Pressure cook them (2-3 whistles).
  • In a pot heat oil. Add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds starts to sputter, add turmeric powder, asafoetida, curry leaves, green chilis.
  • Add cooked peanuts and pumpkin pieces. Add 1/4 cup water and salt. Let it cook on a medium heat for 5 minutes covering the pot.
  • Mix gram flour and water in the buttermilk. 
  • After the pumpkin is fork tender, add buttermilk, sugar.
  • When the curry starts boiling switch off the burner.

Notes

I have added sugar as per my family's taste. We like our kadhi a little on the sweeter side. You can add sugar as per your liking.
