Instructions
Soak the peanuts in the water for 1 hour. Pressure cook them (2-3 whistles).
In a pot heat oil. Add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds starts to sputter, add turmeric powder, asafoetida, curry leaves, green chilis.
Add cooked peanuts and pumpkin pieces. Add 1/4 cup water and salt. Let it cook on a medium heat for 5 minutes covering the pot.
Mix gram flour and water in the buttermilk.
After the pumpkin is fork tender, add buttermilk, sugar.
When the curry starts boiling switch off the burner.
Notes
I have added sugar as per my family's taste. We like our kadhi a little on the sweeter side. You can add sugar as per your liking.
