Sooji Halwa With Banana

Banana Halwa is a traditional dish made as prasad during religious ceremonies. Clarified butter and milk gives a rich taste to this dish. Banana adds a different flavor and you will see the overall combination tastes heavenly.

Sooji Halwa With Banana

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Cup Coarse Sooji
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4th Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 3 Tbsp Clarified Butter (ghee)
  • 1 Banana (1/4 cup)
  • 1/2 Tsp Cardamom Powder
  • Dry Fruits

Method
 

  1. Heat 2 tbsp clarified butter in a pan. Add sooji and roast it on low heat till it becomes golden brown.
  2. Boil water and add it to the sooji. Cover it with the lid and let the sooji cook until you can see that it has absorbed all the water.
  3. Add sugar and saute for 5 minutes.
  4. Add milk and saute until the halwa absorbs all the milk.
  5. Add copped banana and mix well.
  6. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  7. Turn off the burner and add remaining 1 tbsp of clarified butter and cover the lid for couple of minutes.
  8. Garnish it with chopped dry fruits.
