Sooji Halwa With Banana

Banana Halwa is a traditional dish made as prasad during religious ceremonies. Clarified butter and milk gives a rich taste to this dish. Banana adds a different flavor and you will see the overall combination tastes heavenly.

Sooji Halwa With Banana

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Cup Coarse Sooji
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4th Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 3 Tbsp Clarified Butter (ghee)
  • 1 Banana (1/4 cup)
  • 1/2 Tsp Cardamom Powder
  • Dry Fruits

Instructions
 

  • Heat 2 tbsp clarified butter in a pan. Add sooji and roast it on low heat till it becomes golden brown.
  • Boil water and add it to the sooji. Cover it with the lid and let the sooji cook until you can see that it has absorbed all the water.
  • Add sugar and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Add milk and saute until the halwa absorbs all the milk.
  • Add copped banana and mix well.
  • Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Turn off the burner and add remaining 1 tbsp of clarified butter and cover the lid for couple of minutes.
  • Garnish it with chopped dry fruits.
