Pani Puri

Pani Puri is a famous mouth watering Indian street side dish. It is hard to find anybody who does not like it. This is my husband’s recipe and my daughter and me are huge fan of it.

This Recipe uses Dates And Tamarind Chutney.

Ingredients
  

  • 100 Puries
  • 3/4th Cup Germinated Whole Moong Dal
  • 5 Medium Potatoes
  • Dates And Tamarind Chutney

For Green Spicy Chutney:

  • 2 1/2 Cup Mint Leaves
  • 5 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • 2 Tsp Pani Puri Masala
  • 1 Green Chili
  • 1 Tsp Black Salt
  • 2 Inch Ginger
  • 1 Tsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 Cup Water
  • Salt

Instructions
 

  • Boil the potatoes. Chop them and add some salt.
  • Cook the whole moong dal in the pressure cooker with 1 whistle and add salt.
  • Grind mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chili, pani puri masala, black salt, lemon juice, ginger and make a paste adding little water.
  • Add the remaining water to the chutney.

Assembly:

  • Take one puri and make a hole to it. Add some potato and moong dal in it. Pour sweet and spicy chutney in the puri and enjoy it before it becomes soggy.

Notes

Assemble the pani puri just before eating it so that you will enjoy crunchy puries. You can add little or more chili as per your liking. The sweet and spicy chutney combined with crunchy filled puri is a mouthful of goodness.
