Gajar Halwa
This is a very traditional Indian dessert dish made with carrots. I have used condensed milk to give it a rich taste. It is very easy to make as it requires a few ingredients. It tastes good if served warm.
Ingredients:
Gajar Halwa
Ingredients
- 4 Cup Grated Carrot
- 200 Gm Condensed Milk
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)
- 1/2 Tsp Cardamom Powder
- Mixed Chopped Dry Fruits
Instructions
- Grate the carrot.
- In a pot heat butter. Add grated carrot and saute for 10 minutes on a low heat.
- Add condensed milk and sugar and let the halwa cook for another 10 minutes.
- Add cardamom powder. Mix well.
- Garnish the halwa with mixed sliced toasted dry fruits.
Notes
Sugar is added to get the right sweet taste. It can be added as per personal liking.
To garnish I have used toasted almond and pistachio. You can also use cashews and raisins as well.
