Gajar Halwa

This is a very traditional Indian dessert dish made with carrots. I have used condensed milk to give it a rich taste. It is very easy to make as it requires a few ingredients. It tastes good if served warm.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Cup Grated Carrot
  • 200 Gm Condensed Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Clarified Butter (Ghee)
  • 1/2 Tsp Cardamom Powder
  • Mixed Chopped Dry Fruits

Instructions
 

  • Grate the carrot.
  • In a pot heat butter. Add grated carrot and saute for 10 minutes on a low heat.
  • Add condensed milk and sugar and let the halwa cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Add cardamom powder. Mix well.
  • Garnish the halwa with mixed sliced toasted dry fruits.

Notes

Sugar is added to get the right sweet taste. It can be added as per personal liking.
To garnish I have used toasted almond and pistachio. You can also use cashews and raisins as well.
