Cook peas in pressure cooker (1 whistle).
Chop onion and carrot vertically (Julian).
Split the cashews. Wash rice.
In a pot heat oil. Add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds starts to sputter, add asafoetida, bay leaf, cloves, black peppercorn, cinnamon stick, onion and carrot. Saute it for 5 minutes.
Add peas and cashews and saute it for 5 minutes.
Add rice and saute for 5 minutes.
Add ready made pulav masala, salt and saute it for 1 minute.
Boil water.
Add water to the mixture. Keep the lid and let the rice cook for 10 minutes on low heat.
Add ghee and cover the pulav for 5 minutes.
