Instructions
Soak kokam in 1/2 cup water for 2 hours.
Crush garlic cloves. Cut green chilies.
In a pot heat clarified butter.
Add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds starts to sputter add asafoetida, cut green chilies and crushed garlic.
Fry it on low heat for about 1 minute.
Add soaked kokam along with water.
Let it boil for about a minute.
Add coconut milk, salt and sugar.
Let the sol kadhi boil for 10 minutes on low heat.
Notes
I have used store bought coconut milk.
Kokam has a sour taste. Adjust the sugar according to your liking.The kadhi should have sweet and sour taste.
