Shepu (Dill) Chi Bhaji
Shepu (Dill) is usually used as an herb in western cuisine, however it is used as a main ingredient in this simple recipe. Garlic balances sharp taste of dill and yellow moong dal gives some crunch to this recipe. It can be served with chapati/Bhakri.

- 2 Cup Chopped Shepu (Dill)
- 1/4th Cup Yellow Moong Dal
- 12 Garlic Cloves
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- 1/2 Tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder
- 1/4th Tsp Asafoetida
- 1 Cup Water
- Salt
Instructions
- Soak the moong dal in water for 30 minutes.
- Chop garlic.
- In a pot heat oil. Add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds starts to sputter, add turmeric powder, asafoetida, red chili powder and chopped garlic.
- Add soaked yellow moong dal and water. Cover the pot with lid and let it cook for 5 minutes.
- Add chopped dill and water. Mix it well, cover it with lid and let it cook till the dill is fully cooked.
