Eggless Gulkand Sooji Cake

This cake is another variation I have created of sooji cake. Sooji cake recipes are healthy as all purpose flour is avoided. Also these are vegetarian cakes made without eggs. Gulkand is a mixture of rose petals and sugar. It is easily available in all the grocery stores.The aroma of rose petals refreshes your taste buds. No essence is used in this cake.

Eggless Gulkand Sooji Cake

  • 1 Cup Coarse Sooji
  • 1/2 Cup Gulkand
  • 3/4th Cup Plain Yogurt
  • 1/2 Cup Plain Milk
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Softened Unsalted Butter
  • 1/4th Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4th Tsp Baking Soda
  • A Pinch Of Salt


  • Mix sooji, sugar, milk, yogurt and keep aside for 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 180 C.
  • Add gulkand, softened unsalted butter, baking powder, baking soda. 
  • Whisk to remove all the lumps.
  • Bake at 180 C for 25-30 minutes or until the tooth pick inserted in the cake comes out clean.
