Heat 1/2 cup water in a microwave for 30 seconds. Dissolve sugar in it. Add dry yeast and stir till the yeast granules melt. Cover it and keep aside for 10 minutes.
Mix all purpose flour, salt, yeast and knead it into a dough adding little water. I used about 1/2 cup of water. The dough should be soft and elastic.
Add oil and knead it again.
In a large bowl keep the dough and cover it with damp cloth. Keep the dough for 20 minutes to prove.
After 20 minutes you will find that the dough had raised to almost double its original size.
Roll the dough with rolling pin. Prepare the garlic bread stick in the shape you like.
Line the baking tray with aluminium foil and brush it with olive oil.
Arrange the garlic sticks on a baking tray and brush it with garlic butter on top.
Bake the garlic sticks in the oven for 10-12 minutes.
