Coarsely grind it in a blender adding 1-2 tbsp of water.
Mix grated raw mango, chopped coriander leaves, sugar and salt to chana dal.
In a kadhi heat oil. Add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds stars to sputter, add turmeric powder, asafoetida.
Pour the above tadka to the chana dal mixture. Mix well.
Let it rest for 30 minutes and serve.
Notes
This dish is generally prepared in summer when we get raw mangoes easily. However you can substitute lemon juice so that you can prepare it throughout the year. This dish is served at room temperature.
