Peel wal and remove all the beans from inside. Discard the cover. We need only the beans. Cook them in boiling water until they are fork tender.

Make big chunks of potato, eggplant and carrot.
In a pot heat oil. Add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds starts to sputter, add turmeric powder, asafoetida, red chili powder, curry leaves.
Add chopped eggplant, potato, carrot and 1 cup water. Cover the lid and let it cook until they are fork tender.
Add wal beans, drumsticks and amsul. Mix well.
Add the paste, goda masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, jaggery, salt.
Let it simmer for 5 minutes on low heat. Add water if needed.
