Method
- Peel the turmeric and ginger. Finely grate them.
- Squeeze lemon juice.
- Mix grated turmeric and ginger. Add pickle masala and lemon juice and salt to it.
- Mix all the ingredients.
- In a pot heat oil. Add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds starts to sputter add asafoetida.
- Cool the tadka and mix it in the pickle.
Notes
This is a winter special pickle. The fresh turmeric is generally available in the winter. Keep this pickle in the refrigerator and it will stay good for a week.
While grating fresh turmeric your hands will be dyed with it's yellow color. It will wash off in 1-2 days.
