Method
- Wash the flattened rice (pohe) on a strainer and let all the extra water drain.

- Cook the peas in the pressure cooker.
- Finely chop onion. Chop green chilies.
- In a pot heat oil. Add mustard seeds. When mustard seeds starts to sputter add asafoetida, turmeric powder, chilies, curry leaves and fry for a minute.

- Add chopped onions and salt and 1/2 cup of water. Cover the pot with the lid and let the onion cook.

- Add flattened rice (pohe) and sugar and saute it till everything is mixed well.

- Add peas and saute for a minute and turn off the burner. Cover the pot with the lid for 5 minutes.

- Garnish it with freshly grated coconut and coriander leaves and serve the pohe.

Notes
I have taken 1 cup flattened rice per person. After adding the pohe do not saute them for a long time as they loose their moisture and becomes tough. If you like you can also add peanuts in this dish.
