Vegetable Pizza (Indian Style)

This pizza takes me back to my childhood. Growing up my mother used to make this pizza and everyone in our family used to gorge on it. It is made from a ready made pizza base and it is served with tomato ketchup. Back then this was the only pizza we knew and everybody used to make pizza at home the same way with minor variations. This is out family recipe. Interestingly even though we have tasted pizza from various parts of the world, my daughter loves our Indian style pizza equally. Hope your family will also enjoy it. In this pizza I have used Coconut Coriander Chutney

Ingredients:

Vegetable Pizza (Indian Style)

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Readymade pizza base
  • 1 Cup Chopped Onion
  • 2 Cup Potato(Boiled & Chopped)
  • 8 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 1/4th Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4th Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4th Tsp Asafoetida
  • Green Chutney
  • Processed Cheese
  • Salt

Instructions
 

  • Chop potatoes, onion and garlic.
  • In a pan heat oil. Add cumin seeds. When cumin seeds starts to sputter, add asafoetida, turmeric powder.
  • Add chopped garlic.
  • Add chopped onion. Saute till they become soft.
  • Add chopped potato and salt. Mix well.
  • Remove the topping and let it cool.

Assembly:

  • Apply butter on one side of pizza base and heat it on the pan.
  • Remove from the pan.
  • Apply green chutney on the buttered side.
  • Spread the topping.
  • Grate processed cheese on the pizza. Make sure that all the pizza is covered with the cheese.
  • Grease the pan with the butter and keep the pizza on it.
  • Cover it with the lid and cook it till the cheese is melted.
  • Serve hot.
